I've been into radio for a few years now. I've an amateur radio license and my call sign is M1AFY..
I hardly ever use the radio to be honest I mainly listen. The radios I have are the Alnico DR150 and a handy which is a Kenwood TH79. I also for SW listening have a Lowe HF-150.
There's this new 'Internet Linking' thing which is going on. Its like irc chat but using voice. There is a radio connected to the internet whatever it receives is transmitted thru the internet and other radios transmit this out on their frequency. So on 2m you can talk to folk all over the world.
A good idea but to me defeats the object of radio, that's just my opinion.
